This is an old photo but it says how I feel. It’s the start, the dawn of a new life for me. It’s called retirement, I prefer renewal. Looking east, far over those mountains is the beginning of the next chapter, in a place I call home.
I ran up to the tulip fields to catch sunup. No sun, just a wet grey dawn. Guess I’m lucky I didn’t have to be out there working in it. I hope to catch at least one clear sunup over these fields this year.
When this magnolia is in bloom it’s impossible to pass by without looking for a different way to capture it.
Went up to the flower fields today, not much color, lots of daffodils. The demonstration gardens had a few tulips trying to open I caught some Easter colors.
On these gloomy days it is always great to see some bright color.
What do you do when winter is giving you cabin fever? You’re in middle of a snow storm, blowing winds, and a few degrees above zero. Put on your suit and go soak in the Boiling River. Cabin fever cure, guaranteed.
The first swan flared as I brought my lens up and almost caused a mid-air collision.
I went up into the second growth cedars this morning looking for some early trilliums. I found a few just coming up and one with the bloom starting to open, made my day.
